Art of Illustration Discovery Kits

Hi Crafty Friends.....

Today I'm showing you one of the cards I made from the Art of Illustration Discovery Kit from Crafters Companion.

These kits are designed to push you to try new techniques to achieve colour blending and mixing to create new colours. You also get a fine liner pen so that you can add extra details.

I'm no artist so drawing is scary, even if it is only a tiny flower, I am pleased with how this turned out though.

Wish Big - Easter Bunny Cupcake Whimsy Stamps

Hi Crafty Friends......

I'm here today to share with you a gorgeous new release from Whimsy Stamps.  Such a fun digital cupcake by Meljens Designs called Easter Bunny Cupcake.

First off I printed a single version of the cupcake but then decided I wanted to make a stack of them.  Back to the computer and resized to fit the stitched wonky rectangle die (largest die).  Each cupcake is about 3.5cm square.

I used Spectrum Noir Illustrators to colour them up and Pastel papers to compliment.

Adventures in Colour

Hello Crafty Friends...

I'm back with the discovery kits from Crafters Companion. I love this kit, Adventures in Colour illustrated by the talented Carrah Aldridge. 

You get a hand full of carefully selected colours and an instruction sheet and tutorial of how to mix colours to create new one, extending the concept further. So much fun I tell you.

So, top picture was how I coloured it straight from the kit A4 in size.

Here it is cut down and turned onto a card, suitable size to send in the post.

This little Conie Fong Stamp and die set is probably my favourite of the latest collection being launched on Crafters TV today.

Its called Twinkle Angel, she's so very sweet isn't she.

Angel Messenger Conie Fong

Hi Crafty Friends, 

I'm jumping in today to announce that the newest Conie Fong Stamp and Die Sets are being launched in the UK too.  Happy Dance! 

This lovely little Angel is called Angel Messenger and will be coming to Creat and Craft next week.

Advanced Discovery Kits Illustrated by Carrah Aldridge

Hi Crafty Friends.........

I am super excited to show you the Crafters Companion Advanced Discovery Kits. I think I've something like 12 posts to follow, so strap in folks, there's lots to see.

This particular image is from the Adventures in Colour Discovery Kit illustrated by the very talented Carrah Aldridge.  

I turned this particular image into 2 cards.  

Yes, I compromised and cut alot of the image away but these work sheets are A4. A girls got to do, what a girls got to do! 

I just love how they turned out.

Dimond Press sentiment dies, these were cut several times and layered to add depth.

I'm not new to Colouring but I loved this kit.  I learned new skills about using my Spectrum Noir pens and mixing colours. You are going to love it!

Crafters Companion Angel Prayers

Hi Crafty friends

Here I am again with a little Conie Fong Angel.  We are so lucky that Crafters Companion can bring us these gorgeous stamp sets and even better provide the dies to cut these beautiful images out. I'm not bad with a pair of scissors but I'd take dies any day.

I've already shown you one card with this image so you already know that it's available through HSN on the 13th April.

So let's move onto the goodies that I used to create this slimline card.

No dies were used to create the slimline, I simply made it fit a spare piece of cardstock.

Whimsy Stamps Birdbox - A whole lot of happy

Hello my crafty friends!

Well, the weather has certainly taken an unusual turn this week. Not spring like at all. In the last 24hrs we've had, sunshine, snow, frost and now rain!

I was out walking in the snow earlier (just a brief flurry) and passed a family moving into one of the cottages just down the road from me, it reminded me that I needed to share my recent New Home card from Whimsy Stamps.

So, here it is a very proud pair of birds sitting on their very new red birdbox home.  This delightful image can be found in the April digital section of Whimsy Stamps called Garden Birdhouse and is one of the many new releases. Click here to go take a look at them all.

For my card I created a slimline card using the Slimline Birthday Scallop Die, I used Spectrum Noir Illustrators to colour the image and Whimsy Stamps Digital sentiments.

I enjoyed adding the detail of wooden panels to the birdbox but quickly found that I'd hidden the wording, so pulled out my trusty white gel pen and highlighted 'Home'. Meljens really does create the cutest of digital images which also allows you to add your own creativity.

Friends are Angels in disguise

Back today to share another cute angel from the upcoming Crafters Companion launch of Conie Fong Stamp & Die Sets on the 13rh April on HSN.

This one is called Friendship Angel. A gorgeous little boy with his companions. 

I made an Easel Card and coloured the images using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers

Skin: EB2, FS6, 7,8, PP1, AP1

Top: BO4, 3,2,1,

Trousers: GG5, 3,2,1

Wings: GY5, 2, CT1

Cat: BGR3,2, 1, 05

Dog and Hair: RB4, 3,2,1

I used the new Inverted Stitched Zigzag rectangle die set, Crafters Companion Textured Cardstock Brights and 

Crafters Companion Stamping card. 

Neenah Classic Crest Card was used to stamp and colour on.

Angel Prayers

Hi Folks!

I'm back today with another sweet and angelic card showing off the new Conie Fong stamps & Die Set from Crafters Companion.

This gorgeous collection is launching on HSN on the 13th April, not long to go.

This one is called Angel Prayers. I coloured it using Spectrum Noir Illustrators

Hair: TN8, 7,5,1

Dress & Flowers: PP5, 4,2,1, BT1, 2,3, 

Wings & Flowers: GY5, 3,2,CT1

Leaves: DG4, 2,1

I used Crafters Companion Textured cardstock for the frame. Neenah Stamping Card to stamp onto and colour. 

Inverted Stitched Lace Rectangle Die to create the frame.

The background paper was created sometime ago, using alcohol inks and shaving foam.

you are heaven sent

Hi Folks!

I've lots to show you over the next few days. I've been busy working away at samples for all the wonderful new products that are on their way to you.

Crafters Companion Stamping card for a sturdy base, Neenah Classic Crest Card for stamping and Colouring and I heat embossed sentiment.

Ladybug Bunny

Hi Folks!

Today is my first official share as one of the newest Digital Design Team Members for Whimsy Stamps. I'm so excited!

1st of April came with a new release of digital images that you will absolutely adore.

My first card made was using Ladybug Bunny

I coloured this cute image using Spectrum Noir Illustrators 

Bunny - PP6, 5,4,2,1, GT3, 2,1,05

Ladybugs - DR5, 3,1

Sky - BT1, 05

Grass - DG4, 3,2,1

Matt & layered the image using Papermill Direct card and Whimsy Stamps Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die. 

The sentiment came from a Whimsy Stamp Set Flamingo Fun, which I heat embossed. 

I then added a bit of sparkle with gems and sequins.
