It was time to get a little inky today to make this chilly card.  

A whole host of wonderfulness helped create this wintery scene and I couldn't be more pleased.  I could have so easily turned it into a one layer card with a bit of masking and I see that now, maybe I'll have another go when I have a bit more time.

OMG! Christmas is coming!

I've made two slimline cards today using the newly released stamp and die sets from Whimsy Stamps.

It's the time of the year that I give in to all temptations and have a cupboard well stocked of chocolates, cookies, crips and Mince Pies!!  We've all got our favourites in this house so things do get marked up as 'my cookies'!  Did you see what I did there?  I love how versatile the word dies are.

I loved making this card.  I didn't really know where I was going with it but using the Peeking Ghosts Die Set and combining them with the Goth Skulls background stamp, I do believe I created my own reveal background.

The new mini release landed yesterday from Whimsy Stamps and let me tell you, it's as fun packed and on point as ever.  We are still hanging onto Autumn and Halloween but Christmas is on its way and we all have so much to start preparing for.

I, as always, will start with the very best of intentions and crack on with my Christmas cards but I'm fessing up now, I know I will never make enough and probably give up in a few weeks.  I'm like Dory in Finding Nemo, very easily distracted with all the other pretty things or in this case new releases!!

Eye See you!

I was aiming for a creepy card but I think the addition of the Fuzzy spider kind of changed it a bit! I also noticed when I was taking the picture that I stamped the eyeball upside down! So this card is a comedy of errors but us crafters don't mind that do we.

I created this card using the masking technique.  First I stamped both the eyeball and the spider, then I stamped them again onto a piece of masking paper and fussy cut them to cover the stamped image. For the spider all I needed to cover were the eyeballs. If you look closely you'll notice that I heat embossed the spider too.

Next I stamped over the images with the Spider Web background stamp and removed the masking paper.   Result! I now have a spider rolling an eyeball in it's web!  I die cut the Drippy Frame twice using two different colour cardstock and mounted one on top of the other slightly off centre to create a shadow effect.  I then stuck these to the stamped images and cut away the excess card.

This was then mounted to a piece of design paper taken from the Hocus Pocus paper pack and framed with the same colour cardstock that I used for the Drippy Frame.

Let's talk snowglobes!

 

Let's talk about Snow Globes! I love them! Just about anything goes in one.

My daughter collects Halloween ones and I collect Christmas ones.  

I use this Shaker Maker Glitter Die a lot in my cardmaking.  It will probably feature often over the next few weeks with Halloween & Christmas now just around the corner.

I die cut 2 globes to make this card.  First cut was the whole die without the centre cut out.  This was to create the base.  I then cut it again with the smaller die inside to create the window. I inked this piece using Harmony inkpads and stamped the Spider Web rubber stamp over the top.

Taking another piece of card stock I stamped the silhouette cat image and coloured the eyes, sky and moon.  Having used acetate to create an actual window, I then mounted the globe with the window using foam pads to the image and trimmed the edges.  Don't forget to add your shaker bits before you actually mount the image, I often do and have to carefully pull it apart!!

Autumn Fall Blessings

 Hello!

It's been a while! Nearly a whole year since I updated my blog.

I'm here today with a little Whimsy Stamps card to celebrate the arrival of Autumn, my favourite season of the year.  Nights draw in, beautiful colours from the trees and cosy evenings by the fire.

I've created this card by firstly stamping a piece of white cardstock with the Illusions Background stamp, I used a gradient of orange and yellow ink to ink the stamp. It gives a subtle transition of colour.

I then passed this through my cutting machine with the Wonky Window 4 Die and mounted all pieces back together over a larger piece of kraft cardstock.

I've stamped the pumpkins, acorns and gourds from the Gourds & Pumpkins Clear stamp set and fussy cut them.   They have been attached to my card using foam pads.  Fall Blessings has been stamped directly to the card.

The image is a Dustin Pike stamp set called Camping Dragons, I thought the little Possum looked cute dropping his acorns!

I've created this tongue in cheek card using @whimsystamps clear stamps. We do Halloween and Horrors so well don't we 🎃👻

I've taken the same design papers of every colourway from the pack and cut 2cm strips. I've then adhered these strips to a piece of cardstock in random order and used the Wonky Rectangle Die to cut through and create a new design paper.

I've then stamped one of the images from the Feed me stamp set, coloured it in using markers and fussy cut. I've then popped the image onto white card stock with foam pads for a bit of dimension.

Harvest Time

Autumn has arrived, literally overnight! Temperatures are dropping, nights are drawing in and the main noticeable thing in our home are the great big huge spiders! Bigger than our cats, I swear! Even our dog runs away.  We caught such a big spider last week, my youngest son insisted it start paying rent. That made me roar with laughter.

I've made this harvest time card with a bit of a barn theme in mind.  I've used the chicken coop die and decorated it using the web and spiders die set and autumnal hues papers.  The barn is the perfect place to store the pumpkin, apples and pears for harvest.  They certainly look happy to be there.

Whimsy Stamps - What's lurking!

Hey Crafty Friends!

Today's creation is a tank full of fish and maybe a sea monster too! 

The tank has been created using some of the best Whimsy Stamps under the sea stencils (obviously in my opinion),  stamps and Dies not to mention the fabulous ATC Book Die Set. 

Just take a little look at the inside.  I'm so excited about this. 

Here's the list of goodies you might already have in your stash to recreate this or a similar project.  

Ocean Stencil -  heat embossed with clear embossing powder directly to a Paper pad sheet

Slimline Under the Sea Paper pad

ATC Book Die Set -  assembled,  however using one of the frame die sets to die cut a window.

Fadoodle Frames Scalloped Rectangle Die Set -  this is the set I used to create the window.  I also cut 2 frames using the largest dies to mount on the back and front.  Doing this meant that the tank could free stand.

Octopi Guy -  here's your sea monster lurking amongst the dark ocean and hiding behind the coral reef.

Build an Ocean Die Set -  providing the colour and homes to the little fishes. 

You'll find acetate really useful to create the dimensions for the coral reef and to stick any embellishments to that you want to have floating.

Whimsy Stamps - Fish Fancy

Afternoon my crafty friends!

Just look at this spectacular fantail fish from the Whimsy Stamps Fish Fancy stamp set.  Very deserving of a comic book burst frame.

I've coloured this image using Spectrum Noir Tri Blends, perfect to achieve the gradient in colours.
